Izzy Mahoubi is an artist from Phoenix, Arizona. Writing her way through middle and high school, the now 21 year old is a collector of stories and poems exploring topics of faith, the ones who got away, and green room conversations with “Lou Reed wanna-bes”.

Living in the space between Americana, Indie Pop, and Rock, Mahoubi writes her songs equal part desert dweller and storyteller, disclosing every in between feeling with listeners like she’s talking to an old friend. The sonic charm of the Southwest is woven into her songs, having grown up on Stevie Nicks and dreaming her own lyrics on the edge of Camelback Mountain. Inspired by the honest wit of Tom Petty and Madison Cunningham, Izzy blends tongue-in-cheek songwriting with Laurel Canyon-esque pop.

The desert grit is heard in her voice, commanding every room she plays to lean in closely whether she’s with a full band or where it all started: her and pawnshop guitar. Completely independent, Izzy has supported acts such as Sawyer Hill, Em Beihold, and Adam Melchor and has shared bills with her hero’s: The Lumineers and Mt. Joy. Now finishing her first album in Nashville, TN, Izzy is continuing to perform and give listeners an early view into her artistry with singles, “70’s Baby”, “Wanted”, and “Good”.
